A Lovely Afternoon at Succession Wines with a Glass Pour and a Wine Shopping Spree

I haven’t been to Succession Wines since Winterfest earlier this year. (I wanted to drop by last weekend during Lake Chelan Wine and Jazz Fest, but knew it would be crowded with happy festival goers.) So I came today instead, on a quiet #WineWednesday afternoon. I had spent a long morning and much of the afternoon in classes and meetings, and doing lots of blog post writing and editing. Time for a little break before heading to Vin du Lac Bistro for an early dinner!

I was really looking forward to checking out Succession’s current tasting menu and finding out about their latest wine releases.

Love this “Wine” sign – you’ll see photos of it in our Instagram Stories soon, perhaps as part of a trivia quiz on Chelan wineries.

Today’s tasting menu offered a flight of:

  • 2020 Rosé (Syrah)
  • 2020 Viognier
  • 2019 Pinot Noir
  • 2018 Black Label Reserve Merlot
  • 2019 Syrah

I wasn’t quite in the mood for a full tasting, so I asked to buy a glass pour. I decided to save ordering a glass of Rosé for an upcoming 90 degree day, so on this mild sunny 70’s day I opted for a glass pour of Succession’s excellent Viognier.

After shopping for wine for my Woodinville wine industry party back home (two bottles of each 2020 white wine and their 2020 Rosé, one bottle of each red wine) I put my bleeding, groaning credit card back in my wallet and headed outside to find a little table to relax at.

The winery was not crowded at all – I’m sure it will be very busy over Memorial Day Weekend though! (Have you made your table reservation yet? Get to it!) I really enjoyed just kicking back, sipping viognier, posting some Stories and videos, and just enjoying some quiet time for a half hour or so!

When you relax in the vineyard garden patio at Succession Wines, you’ll have an astoundingly beautiful view of Lake Chelan while you sip!

I want to thank the two young ladies who carried my boxes of wine out to my car for me! They were so sweet!
